Our service is for all the locals living in Blackburn areas of Lancashire, that have any type of disabilities to aid ease of commute for medical appointments including visits to the hospital, the Accidents and Emergencies, Doctor's appointments, surgeries, among others. 

At Brownhill Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to thrive, regardless of their limitations or disabilities. That's why we offer free and accessible transportation to individuals situated within  the Blackburn areas of Lancashire. Our goal is to make everyday tasks more accessible, and our transportation services allow those in need to live a more independent and fulfilled life. We are a community-driven organization that is dedicated to assisting the lives of those around us, and we are here to help every step of your journey.

Register online 

The Brownhill Foundation is dedicated to supporting those in need. It's as simple as registering online with us, and we'll take care of the rest. We'll help facilitate your needs and provide you with the support you require.

Your registration will be the first step towards a brighter future. 

Registration requirements

Beneficiaries can conveniently register for services providing their contact information, disability details, and proof of disability.

Individuals may also phone the organisation directly to access its services but will be required to provide the proof of disability (either a doctors' note/letter, a blue badge, a copy of disability benefits award letter from the DWP, a disabled bus pass, or the national disabled identification card).

Beneficiaries/Carers

Beneficiaries (or their carers) can book their transportation requests through the organisation's website, specifying their pickup and drop-off locations, appointment times, and any specific needs.

The organisation's staff will assist beneficiaries in scheduling their transportation where they book via a telephone call.

Transport Services

The transport services are available from Mondays to Sundays from 7am - 6pm. The beneficiaries alone or in company of their carers will be transported by the drivers of the organisation using a mini-bus run and operated by the organisation.

 

The organisation employs DBS-checked drivers, ensuring the safety and well-being of its beneficiaries. All drivers will also undergo comprehensive safeguarding training to identify and address potential risks to vulnerable individuals. The vehicles will have the required insurance and would undergo the regularly MOT checks to ensure they are in safe and reliable condition for transporting the beneficiaries. The mini-buses are equipped with accessibility features to accommodate the needs of beneficiaries with various physical disabilities.

 

The drivers will pick up and drop off the beneficiaries at the location of their appointments as scheduled in
the booking.

Additional Transport Services

The organisation may in other non-medical instances provide its transportation services to the disabled beneficiaries. For transportation requests unrelated to medical appointments, like grocery shopping. The organisation prioritizes transportation for medical appointments to ensure that beneficiaries can access essential healthcare services.


The organisation considers the availability of drivers and resources when scheduling transportation to ensure efficient service delivery. Faraz Ali serves as the Safeguarding Lead, overseeing the organisation's safeguarding policies and procedures. Where the organisation is unable to provide its service to an individual due to the limited resources, it will signpost the applicant to other organisations within the area.
